Veritone Goes Pink

Why Veritone is Going Pink

  • Did you know, according to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer accounts for 29% of newly diagnosed cancers?
  • Did you also know men can get breast cancer? About 2,150 are diagnosed annually—or about 1 in 1,000 men.

We’re going pink for October and here’s why: simply put, it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but beyond that, we have ~480 employees and, based on statistics from breastcancer.org, about 1 in 8 U.S. women and about 1 in 1,000 U.S. men are diagnosed with the disease. This means that someone in our inner circle, whether it’s an employee of ours or someone our employees know, is affected.

We want to show our support by promoting information, prevention ideas, and awareness of the cause.

That’s why we’re going pink.

Here are five ways you can get involved and show your support, too, whether you’re a company or an individual.

  1. Share preventative information. There are a lot of resources out there you can find. Some great sites include, but aren’t limited to:
  2. Share facts and prevention information on social media. People are all over social media, so using this platform is a great way to spread awareness about breast cancer. Here are some shareable facts you can use:

  3. Organize a team for a walk or run fundraiser. Volunteering is an excellent way to be part of a cause, plus it’s a good way to promote your company or brand. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
  4. Share or read stories. Celebrate the women and men who are diagnosed with breast cancer as they share their struggles, insight, and experience. Check out Breastcancer.org’s Community Members Share Their Stories.
  5. Donate. As stated on Komen.org, “a donation provides hope and help to families whose lives have been turned upside down because of breast cancer. By donating, you’re supporting those in need today while searching for tomorrow’s cures.”Right now, on Komen.org, in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Komen.org’s long-time partner, Bank of America, is tripling the impact of donations by matching them made by October 31, up to $100,000. A gift of $25 becomes $75.Other sites you can donate to include:
