Sysomos Inc. has launched the Sysomos Platform, a social marketing and analytics system that incorporates artificial intelligence capabilities. The company said its AI technology can proactively uncover insights and help marketers put information into the proper context. The Sysomos Platform includes a logo recognition that operates with high accuracy, according to the company.
Sysomos said its platform is one of the first comprehensive marketing systems to incorporate AI that reveal hidden insights. The company’s algorithms can uncover correlations, anomalies and associations by using machine learning to process trillions of data points every second. With the Sysomos Platform now integrating and aggregating millions of digital data streams, the company plans to accelerate development of more advanced AI for the social analytics industry.
The platform’s AI image-recognition capabilities can help marketers identify trends, as reported by Venture Beat. For instance, users may be generating content that combines an image of a company’s product with other pictures. This may allow marketers to identify how consumers are viewing a company’s product and what kinds of associations those products inspire.
Peter Heffring, CEO of Sysomos, told Venture Beat that the company’s proprietary image recognition system typically attains logo recognition accuracy of up to 85 percent. Its object recognition works in the 60 to 80 percent range, Heffring said. He added the company is tuning the system and plans to improve its accuracy over time.
Sysomos said its platform is designed to fit the needs of marketing programs that are increasingly centered on social media. The company cited figures estimating that the percentage of overall marketing budgets focused on social media has tripled in recent years. The company added that the social analytics market is expected to rise to $5.4 billion in 2020.
