A visionary serial entrepreneur who has co-founded several highly successful internet software companies, Chad serves as the Chairman and CEO of Veritone. Chad has brought innovation and thought leadership to Artificial Intelligence, transforming businesses worldwide and solving human problems on a vast scale. With his brother, Ryan Steelberg, he has created tremendous shareholder and industry value by establishing AdForce, the world’s largest publicly traded, centralized, independent ad-serving solution, which received the Smithsonian Award for the Best Technology in 2000 before being sold to CMGI; 2CAN Media, the third-largest internet advertising sales organization, also sold to CMGI; and dMarc Broadcasting, the largest centralized radio advertising network company, sold to Google in 2006.
Ryan brings nearly 20 years of executive management experience in technology, marketing, business development and sales. He is considered one of the foremost experts in digital and online advertising. Since 1996, he and his brother Chad have raised more than $180 million in equity financing, managed 400+ employees and created in excess of $3.0 billion in shareholder value, through the successful founding, management, and liquidation of three industry impactful companies.
Pete came to Veritone with an extensive, 30-year background in finance, including six years as CFO of a high-growth, founder-directed apparel company that expanded from five domestic retail stores to over 125 domestic and 30 international stores. He has successfully directed compliance, investor relations, human resources and strategic planning functions in addition to leading major software implementations. Pete also served as partner at a ‘Big 6’ public accounting firm and holds a BS in commerce from Santa Clara University, in addition to being a CPA.
With over 25 years of legal and corporate leadership experience, Jeff is Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Veritone. He was previously responsible for global legal affairs, regulatory compliance and human resources at the Newport Corporation, a publicly-traded company with approximately $600 million in sales and 2,400 employees prior to its acquisition by MKS Instruments, Inc. Jeff received his JD from the University of Southern California and his BA in economics from Duke University.
With over 25 years of corporate organizational and human resources experience, John is Chief Human Resources Officer for Veritone. He was previously responsible for global human resources for Quest, a software leader with $900 million in sales and over 3,800 employees in 60 offices across 23 countries prior to its acquisition by Dell. Prior to Quest, John held senior human resources leadership roles with EMC, 3Com, and Digital Equipment Corporation. He attended Seton Hall University and Regis College and holds a degree in management and leadership. John is a U.S. Army veteran.
